This is where we began the 'vacation' portion of the trip. We headed west on I-40 towards Albuquerque, but this day we had our sights set on the Texas Panhandle. It was a hot day's drive from Oklahoma City to Lake Meredith, where we stopped for the night. And windy too! I thought we were going to literally be blown over a couple of times. We white knuckled it for quite a few hours and actually had to pull over and stop when the side winds got too strong.
We stopped at Lake Meredith for the night, and let me tell you it was hot. It was so hot we couldn't even sit in the camper, and there was obviously no shade. We spent the entire afternoon playing in the water just to try and stay cool, and didn't come out until sunset.
